Downsizing!!
YAY!! We have been here in Hawaii long enough to have a good idea of how we are living and the cost of this life. We are currently in a 2Bdrm/2Prkg apartment. We chose not to get a car and still do not have one.
I found a great little studio in an area with some really great artists at a really amazing price. So that eliminates the need for the second bdrm.
We sign today on a lease for a 1bdrm/1pkg in our same bldg. The savings with the smaller apartment covers the cost of the outside studio. Maybe it's not so much downsizing as rightsizing, but I like that our essential overhead is much lower.
When we first started looking for smaller apartments in our building in January, they were going for as much as $2000/mo which is more than we are paying for our 2bdrm =0 Glad sanity has returned and we have one for $1650.
Living simple one step at a time. And it's great that my husband is on board with all these changes, too :)
