Hello From The Bershires

Hello everyone as i just stumbled upon this site and i got interested as here in the Berkshires we are craftman people and very much DIY people and i do enjoy taking things and repurposing and i do alot of crafting also enjoy the simple life which since moving here i really do love.I have a garden and grow my own vegetables and things as well as my flowers which have been doing very well as i hope to hear from those who enjoy those simple things as well as those who enjoy taking those old things and repurposing them.I have my three rescue dogs who are my life,i enjoy making my own dog food and treas for them and i love making my own ice cream and other goodies and who loves being able to cook outdoors with a bbq you made with your own hands.:)

As a kid I would occasionally be taken to my uncles place in Elkins, West Virginia. My uncle was the Superintendent of the Monongahela National Forest, a gardener, a naturalist, a forester, a bird npbander and a bee keeper. He taught me a little about all these things but mostly visiting I learned about independent living, taking good care of well made things that last and restoring old but useful items. I became aware of Massachusetts back in the late seventies when PBS aired a new show called Crocketts Victory Garden. I loved that show. I realize it occurred in the Boston area and the Berkshires are clean on the other side of the state but I believe that show exposed me to the New England lifestyle which I connected with.

I'm in need of a new BBQ grill (can't give up charcoal or wood for propane yet) and was just looking on pinterest for designs for build it yourself types.
