I may not be as minimalist as this, but I could be close.

Here is what I have so far:

I would have to add my shelving of books for teaching and I do love my pictures in frames, though I could manage with just 2 frames (1 current pic of my son, 1 current pic of us). I also would bring my large desktop monitor, which I use for my work and my son uses for his gaming system and we do like to watch movies here and there but I would not have a TV. Then, my son's items, which I would bring his dresser, mattress and desk. I would probably use the desk in the living room (it's a nice one from Ikea) for both of us. He has a lot of Legos and I am going to have to figure that all out. :)

2 tall lamps with shades

I am thinking of a 1 bedroom apartment, and giving my son the bedroom. I could find a nice chaise/couch combo to sleep on. It doesn't bother me one bit. I have done it before.

I would have a larger coffee table and no formal dining room table. Most apartments have islands anywho, so I could buy 2 chairs and we eat there.

Kitchen- my Vitamix, my juicer, 4 white dinner plates, 4 white bowls, 4 white salad plates, set of silver wear. 2 Tervis cups with lids, 2 smaller glass cups for juicing. Turquoise mixing bowl/salad bowl.

1 large glass candle holder with wooden, round tray (that I sometime use for my fruit)

1 acrylic makeup/skincare organizer that sits on the counter.

Clothing with hangers.

My salt lamp and oil diffuser.

My pink rolling cart/crate. I use it for school transport

Small carry on luggage. (2)

1 tote

2 purses

Cat carrier

2 portable beach chairs (I plan on a lot of trips)

Maybe 1 small box of hygiene/health items.

Cat bowl, water bowl, dog bowl, leash, collar... this is tough one for me. I will only be able to take my 2 cats and my bulldog. The other 2 big dogs..it's breaking my heart...will stay with him. I am really quite upset over this but I have to do what I have to do. >:(>:(:confused:

I am going to the store tomorrow. I decided to get a few new things:

Towels- 2 bathroom, 2 beach (they have a pool at all the apartments here), stack of washcloths
2 Pillow cases and a flat sheet for me.
Bathmat
Shower curtain/hooks

I will have to buy a washer/dryer once I am on my way....

I don't think this is bad. I may tweek as I go.

This is the desk we already have:

I also bought 2 extra "Alex" drawer units..1 is my son's side table, the other is in my office for now, for my school supplies and photos.

I get a lot from Ikea, it works for my small spaces I tend to live in. So far I have been super happy with everything I have bought.

I like the couch model with the chaise. I'm in the market for one myself, maybe I'll wander over to IKEA this month and check it out in person.

Are you sure you're up for the furniture assembly process?? ;)

HAHAHA!! Yes!! I actually love it...and my son likes to help and if I know it's just me..well then I will get it done. Or else, a girl's night..tequila or wine and everyone can partake. :)

A friend got the IKEA sofa in an L shape and I LOVE it. It is so comfortable and has lasted for many years. She got an extra slipcover for it so she can have a slightly differerent look. I am still hoping she gets tired of it and gives it to us.

So sorry about having to leave some of the pets behind. I know how hard that must be.

If I could bring them, I would. I am trying to find a house to rent but many won't take 3 dogs and 2 cats, let alone 2 of those dogs being large size. It's just about killing me. I would give all I have to keep them together. :( :( :(

It is really hard to rent with pets and the more you have the worse it is. Is there a reason besides the crazy neighbors that you aren't staying in the house or are you planning on selling it?

I plan on selling..even it was for me and my son, it would be too much. Right now, we don't even use all the rooms. Add in the nosey neighbors, oh sheesh!! I could not stand to stay. LOL We have some equity in this house and I figure it will be about a year from now, so I will be in a great position financially.
