If you were starting from scratch with 100 Items and could choose the items that would be most versatile and useful for you, what would you choose?

Assume that your living place already has the items that a typical apartment would have such as appliances, laundry machines, blinds.

Count things that go together as one item such as
Computer, cords, mouse, case
Set of underwear for 8+ days
Pair of shoes or socks
Purse and contents
Toiletry bag and contents
Pot and lid, inserts

Cleaning supplies that you use up don't count as anything.
Food and the containers it's in don't count as part of your 100.

What would you choose?

Hmm, I'll have to think about this and come back.

100 is a lot to think of...

Really, I am not too far from this at about 175.

If I could take away work costumes and some other work stuff, I'd be darned close. This would be especially true with your groupings rule.

If I was to live the dream, and be residing in Florida and have a job where I could wear whatever I wanted, then less than 100 would be doable! lol

I like this question!

1. iPhone and cords
2. Purse and contents
3. Medications and toiletries
4. Towel, hand towel, washcloth
5. Black pants
6. Tan shorts
7. Black shirt
8. Black shirt
9. Black shirt
10. Underwear/bra for a week
11. Pink Nike shoes
12. Blue keen shoes
13. Socks for a week
14. Folding file of financial papers
15. MacBook Pro and cords
16. Stethoscope
17. Plate, bowl, fork, knife, spoon, cup
18. Iron skillet
19. Spatula
20. Bike and lock/lights
21. Portable Water bottle
22. Small luggage for clothes
23. A few reusable shopping bags
24. Duffel bag
25. Pillow, blanket, sleeping bag
26. Jeep
27. Work uniforms
28. Pajamas
29. Swimsuit and cover up
30. Swiffer, toilet brush
31. Small toolkit
32. 7 picture albums
33. Small box of things from childhood
34. Lazy boy chair
35. Bed

That's all I can think of from what I currently have and would want to keep. If I don't group some things together on the list maybe I could reach 100.

Now if I added in my husbands things and the things that we currently own together but that I'm not attached to, we'd probably have 250-350 on the list.

We don't own much already - everything we own is either in our jeep (we share one vehicle) or in our little 500 or so square feet one room apartment.

Well, other than the condo that we are renting out in Ohio, that we think might sell this year.

My husband likes kitchen stuff (Even he is minimal In The kitchen compared to most people but it's way more Than I need). He also likes tools and gadgets and camping stuff - still very minimal but way more than I want. I think he owns/claims/wants to keep about 60-80% of what's in our house. Our tiny minimal one room apartment house.

I'm an extremist. 😄

I imagined myself in a city apartment still going to work and having the grocery store nearby. Bae imagined himself in a wilderness. It's funny how there's different circumstances to this question.

Actually, that's just what I keep in my grab-and-go pack, more-or-less, for wilderness search/rescue, or tracking work, or when heading out on adventures. I know I can survive pretty much indefinitely in the sorts of ecosystems I travel in, with this setup or some slight modification. So if I had to boil down my life to 100 items, it'd be this pack - crucial components being the communications and the easy access to outside financial resources, so I could wander the world as I willed.

Thanks for the lists. Enjoyed going through them and thinking through a typical day with each set of items.

Would love to see more lists and mentally inhabit your world for a day.

Still trying to figure out the most versatile things for our circumstances.
