I am standing my ground.... SO...

Today I have class and I am working on the office. I removed a lot of items, donating most of the crafty project stuff to the local school art teacher. I have some papers to go through and a small pile of what if's I need to look at.

What are y'all up to today?

Yep working for the man, and too tired to have a social life (my social life at this point consists of my bf pretty much), and too tired to even look for other work except sometimes on weekends. Bad jobs are like the roach motel.

Walked a mile to our local low cost spay neuter clinic because they had a groundbreaking for a new 7000 sq foot extension to the clinic. Then walked another mile + downtown to get some bakery items from my favorite place. Along the way I marveled at the historic neighborhoods I had not seen from a walking perspective. Got my buns and then caught the bus home. They opened a brand new transit center downtown to corral all the bus departures in one place and this week the rides are all free.

It is over 90 degrees outside and I am exhausted.

I get up when the dogs decide I must:~). then coffee and newspaper followed by breakfast and walk the dog. Today I have a few appointments, etc. I love the pace of being semi-retired but don't love being old.

Trying to get ready for a trip I don't want to take to visit people iI don't want to see (dh relatives) capped off with two days of emotional baggage with my family while I pack up the last of the household furniture/items coming to me from my grandparents' estate.

there will be swimming. I like swimming.

Working then visiting a friend who just had a baby. I kind of dread that...I really don't like holding babies and I'm sure she's going to put the baby in my arms. The only babies I ever liked were my own. Helping in the kitchen tonight at church for VBS. VBS is so much more complicated than it used to be. Tons of decorating, even the food has to follow a theme and involves careful construction. I miss the days when you said "here are two cookies and some kool-aid". I'll probably go kayak at sunset to work off the stress of the day.

Thought I had 4 interviews but they stuck me with 8. Also had to write a discussion guide and edit a report. Took the dog to the dog park and she wouldn't get out of the car. Looked for edible ground cover (like caraway thyme) but couldn't find what I wanted.

Got a big skin tag removed from my left eyelid. It's been growing got over a decade and it finally got big enough for me to do something. It was based on vanity - but since it was so big they think insurance will pay, rather than categorizing it as a cosmetic procedure. Worth the wait perhaps!?!

It is Tuesday and I am already wondering how soon the weekend can be? That is not normal for me, by the end of the day I realized the relationship with the facilities manager is going to be much better so I am more relaxed and I found that essential piece of paperwork that I have been stressing about! Things have been hard to find with running camp at another school. Lost my temper once, kids walked off for the bus instead of waiting for the staff. Took almost an hour to drive home due to construction but I am home now, had some ice cream, hanging out with cats, going to call my daughter because she got engaged yesterday, all good

Congrats to you and you daughter! As a brand new mother in law, I hope you are as happy as I am!

as someone who is dreading the weekend, I assure you it will come very soon.

Isn't time relative? Someone mentioned that I might have to plan a wedding, oh dear, dad is better at these things like buying prom dresses. I am better at shopping for combat boots.

Is there any chance she would like to get married in combat boots?

mine planned her own wedding with her dh. We offered a budget, some guest requirements, and suggestions if asked. She mail ordered her dress. Actually, she mail ordered 7 dresses from places with free shipping both ways and kept the one she liked best. She mail ordered/thrifted/borrowed/repurposed most of the wedding. It was amazing.

This is my somewhat more normal child so no combat boots, but she sews and I sew and I think that thrifting would be great for a lot of things. She is super talented and creative. The budget will be set by dad, and he tends to spend big,

I have no idea when they are thinking but I won't be surprised if she changes her name! She currently has a hyphenated last name that is 15 letters long altogether and part of it (mine) is unpronouncable outside of northern Iowa or Holland/Germany.
