This made me so sad, in the world where we tell people, little girls, they can do anything that this is still happening soooo much. I love how the author of the first article is so honest. I will admit that I don;t see this as much in my line of work however I did want a more math based career for awhile and was very hard on myself when I realized I couldn't handle the crap in the 80's in science and math majors.

This is a wonderful response, not just trying to click bait ya know. I think there is hope but I am really, really angry that it is still happening to this extent. I lost a lot of things in the recession and am working my rear off to deal with that. And I have made better financial decisions than my ex, except of course not wanting to go into classified defense work that pays more. I have routinely been treated as if I know less and dismissed. I even had a girl friend who was going to instruct me on how to do taxes, I cut her off an explained that despite having some years as a housewife I know how to do complicated taxes including depreciation, depletion and trust money. We all fall into those assumptions at times,

Come work where I work. Sure, the tippy top job here is and always has been held by a man. But many of the close-to-the-tippy top jobs and all the way on down are dominated -- I mean dominated! -- by women.
