In a web place far far away, there was a small group of people who had like interests and I was one of them (not this site.)

One person appointed himself the news consolidator. . He postd a dailey digest of news articles and links from all over the web. That quickly drove me out of the group because it was so silly, doh, like

The stuff he posted had nothing to do with the main focus of the group. It just made him look unsophisticated and naive about the web.

Make that three. Without context provided by the OP (UA or anyone), it might as well be advertising by WaPo or Buzzfeed or whoever is providing the linked article -- except that the forum doesn't get the benefit of advertising revenue if it were a sponsored link. If the OP just provides the link as a topic-starter without a germane question or an explanation why (s)he agrees/disagrees with it, I see no reason to spend my time reading it and forming an opinion just on the OP's say-so.

Bluntly, the volume of those posts is one big reason I spend so much less time on this site these days.
