Here’s a more complete explanation:

oh good lord.
well, don’t die!
I second this sentiment! LOL.
Well it does seem my rebreather shipped yesterday or will today. A friend was at the manufacturer (KISS) yesterday and she sent me this photo. The office car, known as KISS Kat, had inspected my boxes up, ready to go rebreather. :D I told the friend she should have moved the car and taken a photo of the Fedex label visible in another photo. I want the tracking number so I can track it myself and leave everyone alone! LOL

Class and pool session yesterday were awesome. No bubbles!

Up in WI for 2nd and 3rd days of rebreather class open water dives. Last Sunday was 1st day. Buoyancy is so much different than open circuit (bubbles). Very rough. I thought the day had gone badly but instructor said I was pretty good about monitoring O2 percentage and keeping it at what she had told us. That’s the important thing, so it was a much better day than I thought.
How great that you can keep the O2 correct! The rest will improve, I am sure. You amaze me!

Good. That seems to be an important new skill and diving so good for making inroads in mastering it.
Passed my class. Yay! Now to get out and dive!

Congrats, Tradd!
Thank you! Photo instructor took during fun dive yesterday. I’m checking my PO2 level - left arm- and ready to add more O2 if needed - right hand.

The instructor I was diving with (he was guiding me) in FL got some awesome photos of me. We saw manatees! From a distance underwater. You can’t scuba with them, although you can snorkel.
Iris, I have cave diving photos of me that really show what it’s like.
Both photos are at Peacock Springs. In a narrower bit of cave. Second photo is exiting Peacock with the light from outside visible.

Manatee photos from Fanning Spring. Instructor stuck his camera in the water from the dock. When we were underwater and saw them from a distance, we could see there were 3!

You can see the manatees in the distance beyond me

Photos are manatees underwater, the spring boil at Fanning Spring, and me diving. The spring boil is only 14ft deep, but the photos make it look deeper. The boil is where the water comes out. The manatees in the distance were beyond the barrier that designates where divers and swimmers can go. The spring run leads to the Suwannee River.

Manatees are such strange creatures. Your photos are pretty. I’m glad you had a good time I’m glad you got home with no drama.
The manatees are beautiful! I got up close to one in Boca Raton once.

Awesome photos, Tradd. Looks like you had a wonderful time!
I only did 4 dives over the entire trip compared with 13 last year, but I had ear issues. I could have dived Friday, but decided not to. I used that day to pack up everything. There was the incident with the jerk that I posted about in the peeve/rant thread. But it was a nice trip otherwise. Pretty relaxed. Not sure if I’ll go next year. I miss celebrating Christmas with the folks up here. Maybe I’ll do it every other year. Got some awesome photos for next year’s Christmas card!

That incident with that creep is scary. Sorry it happened.
’m doing a maritime archaeology/underwater archaeology class through my local uw archaeology group (Great Lakes wrecks). It’s through a partnership with the Nautical Archaeology Society in the UK. I’m halfway through the eLearning and underwater portion is sometime in May. I’ve wanted to do this for a LONG time, but schedules never matched up. Diving portion will be at a local quarry.

What a wonderful opportunity!
The underwater archaeology class was a dud. Visibility was very bad and I realized anyway that drawing uw is not something I do well, and it was incredibly boring. Put me behind a camera and I’m fine. But the drawing? Nope.
Off to the Straits of Mackinac for wreck diving next weekend.

Glad it was a good trip, tradd. Safe home.
The first photo, of the grumpy bluegill giving the camera the stink eye, will make my Christmas card.
These are from Labor Day weekend at Pearl Lake on the IL/WI border.

Remember me mentioning about a year ago about the friend who dived while solo cave diving in FL? A cave diving group has issued the accident report.
Friend made some big mistakes. I’ve learned lessons already

oh no.no solo cave diving!
oh no.no solo cave diving!
I will NOT solo cave dive. My solo dives are shallow -20-30ft.
Friend has a habit of doing really deep dives, too, that weren’t cave.
