I have long had a dream of co-housing. I started looking into it 25 years ago when I visited a community in Boulder with friends. I have been single for over 10 years and that does not seem to be changing anytime soon, plus neighborhoods are not always close. I really have loved this idea of community, it keeps growing in me.
I found one in Denver that has some affordable units, my income qualifies for that. Possibly with my credit improving I can look in the next couple years at buying into co-housing. It is rather overwhelming (in a good way) to survive recession and divorce and start to develop a plan that is all on the money I EARN! I have been dependent or inter-dependent for almost all of my life. Just being able to totally support myself is new in the last 2 years.
