View Full Version : "Tiny House Nation" On the Prairie: Laura Ingalls Wilder
Here's an interesting article (http://www.offgridquest.com/life-stories/laura-ingalls-wilder1?start=3) with a lot of photos about the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I LOVED the "Little House" books and the TV series with Michael Landon, but I didn't know anything about her life. This little article brings it to life.
Thanks Catherine, Have you read her annotated biography? It's a huge tome but interesting. I did not come away with good feelings about Rose. But I'm glad I read it. The library should have it.
Nswef, I also just finished reading her annotated biography, "Pioneer Girl." What a character Rose Wilder Lane was...very odd indeed! When I was little, I read all of LIW's books and used to daydream about showing her around the 20th/21st century--fast cars, TV, computers, etc. Of course, she lived to a ripe old age and saw the advent of lots of modern conveniences, but in my imagination I always envisioned her as being a young schoolteacher!
Thanks for the suggestion on the annotated biography!
I love the books and used her name for a daughter! Now that I am a genealogy fan, I find her life more interesting. I probably have seen the shows so much that I have the words memorized.
Catherine, that was an interesting article about the Ingalls but what a weird site to visit. Some of the stuff that showed there was positively strange.
haha.. I must have "liked" the site on the basis of an article posted on FB once. It does have some interesting articles.. some more "interesting" than others, but I still enjoy the occasional article that pops up. BTW, I think I linked to one of the last pages rather than the first... apologies.
