For years I wanted cotton watch bands and I made feeble efforts to find them, no luck.. Then one day I walked into Target and there they were! Army green in color, but thats ok, that is practically a neutral.
I bought two.

Mine are holding ip well but Gee, it would be nice to,have some color choices!

Target no oinger sells them. i cant find them on eBay other then the big honkin thick army type that starts at about $28.00.

I want one around $6-8 and not heavy heavy. Also, nylon is out, it needs to breathe. I want the style that is one long strip of fabric, not the style in two pieces.

Next time I find some I will hoard them.

what abot you non hoarders, what practical thngs do you hoard because you are afraid yo wont be able to get more of those items?

WatchItChange on Etsy makes cotton watch bands; might be too cute, but worth a look.

I hoard graham crackers when I go to the USA as I know I can't get them back here. I also hoard decent British tea in my partner's Mom's house in Virginia as I know I can't get that there.

Currently, I'm thinking about hoarding spare parts for my Instant Pot. The company that manufactures them seems to be here to stay, but you never know.

Maybe you can make your own or find a crafty person who does.

Some Etsy shops do custom work--it's worth asking. Velcro maybe?

I wish I could hoard what I would like to. My son bought me a sweatshirt and a t-shirt from a mom-and-pop VT souvenir shop in Burlington. The designs were SO cool--not touristy at all. They said "Vermont" and "Burlington" but in a really subtle, artistic way. After I got yet another compliment about a year ago from a thirty-something and I told him where to get one, I looked them up to be sure I gave him the right information, and they had JUST CLOSED SHOP!! They had JUST packed up and shipped the last of their inventory and they moved to Hawaii. I missed being able to hoard a couple of sweatshirts by two days.

I actually wrote to them to tell them how much I liked their stuff. I was hoping they would figure something out to enable them to drop ship Vermont shirts from Hawaii, but I think they're too happy not working. Bummer! So now I only wear the sweatshirt on special occasions, like when my kids come down.

My aunt used to say "When you find something you like, buy two of them." I've kept that sage advice in mind.

ETA: Catherine, have you tried eBay and/or Etsy? That old store stock had to go somewhere.

Omron pedometers.... Bought two the last time because everything is now synced to your phone. Just wanted a good, accurate pedometer to stick in the pocket...

flip-flops. I love them but I'm picky - no cheap plastic, no leather, no more than 20 bucks. When I find some I like I buy multiples. Typically a pair lasts me two years. I bought 4 pair of SmartDogs - now they apparently are out of business. When those totally bit the dust, I bought a pair of Margaritavilles at Sam's several years ago... by the time I decided I loved them they had only one pair left in my size. I'm wearing them now. I don't know what I'll do in two years!! I DO know if I find some I like I'm buying 10 pair! (that may last me the rest of my life, lol!)

I have a couple of VCR's in old tvs and might consider hoarding another as they are apparently not making them anymore, and VHS movies are 3 for a dollar at the Goodwill.

I have one of those--I really wanted an analog one, but that was the closest I found at the time.

Update on my watchband sitch:
I found a denim band, so that might work. i also relaxed one of my requirements and ordered a nylon band. I can wear that during winter months when I am not sweating.

my obsession with a cotton band is that now that I have one, it works exactly the way
I want it to work. Back when I had leather or faux leather bands, by late summer I had sores on my wrist feom sweating. This cotton band cuts that way down.

I cant live withut a watch.
