View Full Version : Rearranging furniture
Just moving your furniture slightly from one section of a wall to another can change the energy in a room. I don't know much about Feng shui but I can feel a difference. I am considering moving my bedroom back to a different one. I moved to this one to get away from a parking dog (no longer there) but now I am next to a lot of street noise. Moving a whole bedroom is a lot of work so I am concentrating on getting rid of some furniture and shifting things gradually. Marie Kondo doesn't talk much about furniture in her books but she says people don't need much when they get rid of stuff. I can see getting rid of more furniture as I get rid of things. I don't have huge closets though to hold dressers and bookshelves as she says to do though.

I like to switch position of f the sofa durng the summer, to change things out and keep it fresh. But
I no longer do that because the tv is in an obvious place seen by people walkng in front of our house, making it a target for theft. I am too lazy to open and close blinds
But maybe I need to reconsider that next summer. I cant do it durng the winter because our living room is full of plants and they sit in front of windows, making it too hard fo raise and lower blinds.
I used to move my couch, but do to a now bad neighborhood keep it in front of the window unless I am letting in fresh air. I moved bedroom furniture since I still need to Kondo my clothing at some point. Need more space for that! Your supposed to toss things on the floor to make some decisions. If and when I move, I don't think I would take most of this old furniture with me either.

There's a great book called "Use What You Have Decorating" that is all about furniture arranging. The author is Lauri Ward.
It has great suggestions about finding balance, symmetry, finding storage space, how to hang pictures - highly recommended!
