If tracfone offers you a free phone to replace your 2 G - don't do it!

I have gone through a nightmare of a time with this company's nonsense and so have a lot of other people.

You are better off buying a replacement phone yourself that has the right sim codes because you will spend weeks and months trying to resolve the issue.

You will get a junky refurbished phone with NO information, out of country codes and one that requires you to upgrade to a more expensive monthly fee.

What a scam!

Buy your own phone for less than 10 dollars and transfer your minutes online.

Do not call this fish company to talk to robots and overseas people in some place where they cannot understand what you are saying.

You will spend an entire day dealing with a surly call center employee who is as dumb as a box of rocks!

They know that customers have minutes banked on cheap phones and want you to lose those minutes.

They also want you to lose your double minute benefit offer.

Buy your own phone!

I have to say that my free phone seems to work. Everything transferred to the new Trwcphne ok. I was deeply skeptical that it would be a smooth transition, but it was.

I never really use the phone so after an initial testing period, it is parked on the kitchen counter as always. If it had not worked I planned to give in and get a smart phone. So, I have dodged that bullet for a while.

That is nice but that has not been my experience - I could write a novel at this point about the fails with this company. I am not the issue - tracfone is.

I have had a Tracfone for several years and never had a problem, but I guess you get what you pay for.

but have you moved to the 2g phone? That move is not optional.

My latest is actually a 4G Tracfone smart phone. I think it ran me about $50. My old $15 flip phone would not take a charge after about 5 years, but I do miss it and have regrets about not replacing it with another flip phone. I have so many carryover minutes that I may never get to use them, and am now getting triple minutes when I buy cards.

Because I use my phone only about twice a year, I have tons f minutes but
I dont care if they conti ue on, or not.

It is like airfare bonus miles--i wont use them , so why should I care about them? I am flying soon for the first time in 7 years, and when I delved into the ticketing resteictions, there was a lot of blather about bonus mileage and useage. i dont care about that, I just wanted to see the mechanics of the ticket for my actual flight.
