View Full Version : Sad Eyed Lady
I believe you are a fan of Leonard Cohen, I thought of you this morning when I saw he left us to some place better. Peace

Yes, RIP, Leonard Cohen.
I also remember our former member redfox had one of his signature lyrics as her auto signature: "There is a crack in everything; that's how the light gets in." Such profound wisdom in his lyrics.

he was the soundtrack of my life since I "found" him at 15, he literally got me through puberty, divorce and general living, lol. I loved his books, his poetry. I didn't have the opportunity to see him until around 2010, when he had to tour because his people had ripped him off and he was broke in his 70s. It was hands down the best concert I will ever have seen. 3 solid hours in his Tower of Song.
Some dope asked me if Trump winning was worse than Cohen dying. Cohen was 82 and hopefully in a place of peace with death, I hope he didn't suffer. I'm glad he didn't die on Election Day, it would've been one tiny piece of information in a hurricane. I'm sad he's gone, but Trump winning was worse, IMVHO.
Did you know he just released an album in October?
During the Remembrance Day service on CBC news broadcast, Cohen read the the poem, Flanders Fields. It was very movingly done and tribute to both memories.
Flanders Field was the first poem I had ever read that affected me so deeply. I think that was the beginning of an anti war person at the age of 12 maybe? I don't remember what grade I was in.
