Cards Against Humanity

For the open house we have the day after Thanksgiving, I'd like to play a group game but not Apples to Apples again, even though that always generates laughter. I want Cards Against Humanity, I've heard how great it is. However, would people in their 60s-70 be upset with it do you think? I've never played and I don't want to spend money on it if it won't go over well. Anyone know?

From what I have heard, it is not the right game for your demographic and will not go over well.

never mind, my DD just told me genitalia are involved. THAT won't go over in my family

Couple of talk show hosts played it on air the other day (and apparently do so often). Full of innuendo and sounded like some dark humor as well.

As someone who has played it a number of times (and loves it) I would say that it will not go over well if there are people in your group whose political views are not socially liberal. It requires political incorrectness on an understood level of "this is politically incorrect." to work. That's the shtick. People who don't find the responses politically incorrect won't get the joke and the people who get the joke will get pissed at the ones that don't if you try to play with a social political mixed group.

I suppose it's also possible that if everyone were social conservatives the game might also prove fun, but it would be a very different experience from mine.

we have two ultra conservative Trump supporters and the rest are liberal. I think it's best if we stick to boring Apples to Apples and save this for when it's not a diverse group. Darn, I wanted to play it so bad and see certain peoples' reactions but not at in the company of my dying mother, that could be the last straw, plus she would never forgive me.
