Found out from a friend that a big local hospital was offering heart scans to check for calcification for $50. Takes about 40 minutes with most of that for registration. Wonderful service. Husband found out he has a high amount of calcification. Going to be able to speak to his family practice doctor, perhaps with a cardiologist specializing in nutrition and prevention, and develop a new diet.
He is really down in the dumps right now but at least he has something concrete to work on. Statins don't work for him since he sufferes from all kinds of side effects
