New Year's Rocking Eve

Neither New Year's shows on the regular channels are thrilling me this year - who are these musical artists?

I am officially old I think.

I did enjoy PBS's Live from Lincoln Center so much more.

Maybe it is time to watch some more Game of Thrones Season 6 on DVD.

I am having 100 percent cranberry juice in my wineglass tonight - I am not a drinker of alcohol (not affordable on my budget).

No parades tomorrow either but got to wait till Monday.

I went out to,the county, to the posh mall, to see a movie. I saw Jackie, which was ok but nothing great. It is about Jackie kennedy in the days after the assasination. Anyway, I thought that the mall theater would either be terrifically crowded with old white people, or it would be empty. It was crowded! i saw friends there, people from my neighborhood in lud Ng a friend who stopped by this afternoon. , so just goes to show I was with my peeps.

DH was playing cards tonight with his card group. One of the neighbor couples I saw at the mall were regulars ij that card group, taking a breakmfor NYE.

So I watched something else until 11:30 and then went back to the Rockin" Eve Show. Mariah Carey was featured and she was flying as high as a kite! And her kids were there too. She reminded me of the way Anna Nicole Smith used to act but wouldn't admit she was drugged up. MCs performance was awful! Someone needs to do an intervention on her for sure.

I had ribs and salad for supper, walked the dog as usual and then walked him to tour around the local lighting display in our park which was really lovely despite the drizzle. There was just enough snow to make the lights sparkle. Haven't been able to do that tour for a few years so really enjoyed it plus the carilloneer (sp) playing music of the season
I was so sleepy by 10:30pm I went to bed. The world would have to welcome 2017 by itself.;)

WE had 2 other couples over for dinner and cards. It was really fun. Usually we don't make it until midnight but we did last night.

Quiet.
No invites for us. The boys were out with friends.
We actually forgot to get out the champagne and raspberries we'd bought New Years Eve Eve when we went to the local pub to hear some music and have dinner.
New Years Day we had church, lunch, put away christmas (except outside lights), then we all watched movies and had the munchies I'd planned for New Years Eve and the champagne with raspberries.
Did not watch any TV NYE specials or parades. I think the Rose parade is today because they don't do the parade on Sundays but we're back at work.

Also quiet--watched a couple of episodes of Man in the High Castled and then tuned into Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin to ring in the new year with BIL, my dog and my DDs dog, whom we're doggie-sitting.

Heard from the boys shortly after midnight, but no word from DD until mid-day the next day. I think she was having too much fun in Knoxville with her BFF.
