View Full Version : A bit of over-packaging?

Over the past several months, I've bought a number of things online. Recently, I bought a puzzle on eBay. It arrived today. It took me awhile to get into it........so much tape, a box, bubble wrap, paper, a trash bag, more paper, more tape, more bubble wrap. I couldn't believe it. I wonder if this was one of her first mailings? There was "Fragile" written all over the outside. I thought it was something else I had ordered that was breakable. I think I will tell her nicely that she doesn't have to work so hard on sending puzzles. I've even had puzzles sent to me with just the shrink wrap they are born with and a label and they were fine. I just had to chuckle at the work this poor girl put into it. She meant well, I'm sure.

Any issues and the seller is responsible from Ebay's point of view. She has to overpack, to make sure she gets her money.

Well, there's making something safe and there's over-doing it.

A lot of Ebay sellers go a bit above and beyond because they are worried about getting bad feedback which would affect their rating.

I'm operating from a feeling about excess, I guess. I wrote this seller a nice note, but told her that I thought she was over-packing when it wasn't necessary. Hopefully, she'll take it the way I intended it........to save resources and she wouldn't have to work so hard.
It wasn't an antique lamp......it was a cardboard puzzle box. In some cases, I appreciate more packing.
