Witnessing and Hearing Stuff that Should Not Be Discussed in Public

I was in a public place today where 3 employees were discussing private things about another person who volunteers there (and is trying to get paid work). The stuff said was disgusting, and the conversations went on for at least 30 minutes or longer.

This is bugging me big time because I think they should all be reprimanded.

Back when I worked in schools, we we never to discuss anything anywhere with anybody!

The entire conversation should have been in a back room somewhere and in private.

This is a small town, there are serious ramifications from saying anything. I just needed to vent about it here.

This reminds me of a case I heard a discussion about. A woman filed sexual harassment charges on three guys who laughed at a joke the fourth person made. She didn't file on the one who made the joke, because he was her boyfriend and she was listening in on a private conversation. Sometimes there are no winners.
