Like my salad spinner, even though I hate buying/using more plastic, this new item looks fairly cool. If it works right, you could save on a lot of cutting of all the veggies. I hope the knife doesn't slowly shear off plastic into your salad.
I'm thinking that this might be good for those of us with bad finger arthritis. What do you think? I DO feel guilty considering another plastic item though. Maybe they will eventually make it out of metal? It looks very interesting to me.

Actually, I watched a You-Tube review of it and it does a nice job, but it does come from China (of course....what doesn't???), and after using it twice, the person could see the knife cuts in the plastic base of it. It's not looking as good to me now.

Couldn't you just use a food processor or Salad Shooter? Or even a mandoline?

Looks like it would double as a small strainer/colander (looks like base could also be stand when used that way) - maybe it could replace something less functional?

This looks silly to me. You already have to clean and peel the veggies so it isnt saving much time or hand motion. Each veg requires a different treatment. Tomatoes are soft, carrots are hard, treat them differently.

I do like chopped green salad, so the cutting and chopping of lettuce greens doesnt bother me. Purists want them torn, not cut.

I might consider this if it were bigger and made out of metal. We eat massive amounts of salad. A food processor would probably puree the lettuce, while barely chopping the carrots. Oh well.........for a moment when I first saw this, I thought my life would be suddenly wonderful and easy. :~)

Yeah, a food processor wouldn't work if you want to chop everything together. I suggest waiting, then buying one at a thrift store--I bet there will be dozens available. :)

I always cut lettuce--mostly romaine, which lends itself to a knife. I'm not a purist where technique is concerned.

I could probably set lettuce (leaves) on top of each other on a cutting board, then position the carrot just right, and the onion, etc., and just start chopping.
This all sounds sort of silly, doesn't it? haha I just know that when I make a big salad for several days, it takes a lot of chopping. Maybe I could just throw them out in the yard and run over them once with the mower? :~)

If I had arthritis in my hands I would cut the lettuce and throw the other stuff in a food processor.
But the picture of you attacking a pile of carrots with a lawn mower is pretty funny...
