MIndful dogs

My husband is a long time meditator, and he mediates every day for about 45 minutes to an hour. Lately two of the dogs including the puppy have been in there meditating with him. Well, at least lying there on the floor next to him very quietly.

Do any of your dogs do this, and does it have a calming effect? We went to puppy obedience class last night, and the puppy is the only dog that lies there quietly at our feet at the class. I attributed it to her breed, but now I am starting to wonder.

I had a cat who seemed to sense when I was meditating or doing yoga and would seek me out and settle in beside me.

How wonderful, I would imagine that they feel a sense of calm and peace. Every time I have tried my dogs all seem to see a squirrel or sense the Mail Carrier somewhere in the area.
