A bra when you don't go to the gym. I am classic at losing things. I lost my favorite water bottle, fancy starbucks tumbler (that lasted a year), a work reciept, etc. Then there are the misplaced but show up later things, that happens often as well. If i dont put things away exactly then it is so easy to lose track. This is part of the reason I tend towards minimalism, i have a small closet and one dresser,

But a bra, and one of the fancy ones that is the correct size, my only black one as well. I will go through all my clothes this weekend for a goodwill purge and see if I can't find it. Bra shopping is brutal,

I am sorry for your loss ;)

my my son was the king of losing things. At the end of the year, his school would lay the lost and found out on the lawn like a giant yard sale. One year we collected a pair of his shoes, his socks (they were in the shoes) a pair of his pants, two of his shirts, and a jacket. I just stared at him and finally said “I don’t understand how this happened. I really feel like I would have noticed if I picked you up in your underwear.”

Some years back I knew a young lady who lived in a 3-storey walkup apartment building with a common coin-operated laundry room. To hear her tell it, the building had a "panty stealer" who raided the dryers a couple times per month. They had a "lone wolf pervert", as she would say. I don't know that the "wolf" part was believable, but I would accept lone and pervert.

But seriously, I agree with minimalism and organization of space (and then being consistent about putting everything in its place). I am a stickler for position of postage stamps, car keys, kitchen utensils & ingredients, workbench tools, etc.

I always wonder how many people get upset at how I position stamps. The roll of stamps (American Flag forever stamps) the way they naturally come of the backing I end up with them sideways or upside down on my envelopes. Hope no one thinks I'm trying to disrespect the flag.....I'm just lazy.

I lost my rain jacket. I'm so mad about that. I've had that Eddie Bauer rain jacket for 26 years!

Bras I tend to hang on hangers to dry then they accidentally get put in the closet then I wonder why I only have one bra in the drawer. Hope you find it Zoe Girl!

I know the feeling. For years I've had a favorite pair of hiking boots, rugged, sturdy, lightweight, comfortable and pretty good looking, even more so as they've become scuffed and worn through years of use. Looked for them recently and can't find them anywhere. Very frustrating.

I'm with you TT. It seems I spend half my life looking for DH's keys, wallet, glasses and Fitbit.

I set my glasses down on the bed while getting dressed one day. They vanished. I swear I live in some kind of vortex.

Once I arrived home from work, greeted the dog in the driveway, and when I got to the door, didn't have my keys. I never did find them. Looked all over the car, the driveway and path to the door. Never found. Had to wait for DH to come home and let me in. He didn't find them either.

The Ford Escape has a vortex under the passenger seat if you lift up the carpeting on the transmission side near the center consol. I know because my wife lost a set of keys in this hole for about a month. If you still drive that make.

You should invest a few bucks in this in this Shark Tank vortex-buster: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/20/how-2-friends-turned-shark-tank-backed-drop-stop-into-a-24m-business.html

I think there's something going on with my socks. They never travel anywhere alone, but they disappear all the time. I have this vision of being reunited in the afterlife.

I would like to send all of you my DH. He is a FINDER. He enjoys the challenge of finding things and is usually successful. He charges $100 per hour plus expenses. Call him as soon as you discover the thing missing, timeliness is key.

I have lost one shoe. I think I have looked everywhere but apparently not because I haven't found it yet. My husband accuses me of throwing it away because I purge stuff often but why would I throw away one shoe? The shoe is sitting on top of my dresser hoping that I will find it's mate someday.

Ever see "Wristcutters"? One of my favorite movies. Three is a vortex under passenger sest.

I have been going to bed with my socks on because it's so cold at night. I swear those socks have a life of their own as they disappear and reappear one at a time in the oddest places. And I don't even recall taking them off.

KayLR glasses are the worst, because then I can't see to look for them.

I often find other laundry inside the folds of my fitted bedsheet if I was them together.

So many accounts of lost socks.....I've found the solution in our home. For years my husband complained that I lost his socks when I did the laundry so I told him to wash his own socks. He has not lost sock (or complained to me about a lost sock) for 25 years.

I have a fast solution for the lost shoe. Throw it's mate away and quickly the other shoe will appear:))

I have thought of doing that. I wonder if 'fake' throwing it away might work, putting it in the trash can but not taking it to the trash cart on trash pick up day? :|(

I dont think so. You cant fool the Gods of the Swirling Black Vortex. If you try, they will get back at you with something evil like a lost dog or child. Do not mess with them is my advice.

Dadopotato, you reminded me of when I was in college and the laundromat was next door to the poolhall/bar. I left my clothes in the dryer and went to shoot some eightball. When I got done and went back for my laundry all my underwear was mia! I was so freaked out!

Sweetie, it went to fuel college boys’ dreams. Maybe some of it ended up on ebay.

Egads that's what I was afraid of! haha! Although that was too long ago for eBay at least. The worst thing was having to hand wash my two remaining pair of undies and bras daily until Santa brought me my Christmas underwear!
