Afe there any chemicals that are benign? Hmmm, I think so.

Are flesh eating chemicals benign? One would think not on first blush. Yet, these are alkaline chemicals. Some greenies are proclaiming that “green.”

I'll have to look more into that. Seems nasty to me, even if the chemicals are alkaline. Makes me think of the scenes in House on Haunted Hill when Vincent Price pushed his wife into the vat of acid.

Here's another article about it that explains the process. I'm still not sure I'm into it, but, as you said, IL, if you choose cremation because it's more environmentally-friendly, you may be wrong.

When I don't need my body anymore, cremation is my choice but aquamation may be OK as well. I read recently somewhere that each cremation takes the equivalent energy of supplying an average home's electricity for a week. Seemed high to me so this method would be a better option.

I plan on being cremated, but not by some giant gas oven contraption, rather we will be using a classic, simple, elegant Viking longship made out of renewable and sustainably-harvested wood.
