View Full Version : How high is the temperature today in your part of the world?
Southern Ontario is experiencing a significant hot spell. The temp reached 31C or 88F with humidex reading at 42C or 107.6F.
I am glad that I have AC and a fan to cope.
What temps are you dealing with these days?
52 degrees F, light drizzle, overcast. Orcas Island, WA
High of 83 today; low in the mid 50s but last two days were close to 100 which is highly unusual. No AC here but cool nights make it bearable.
90s predicted all week, high humidity and the nights only going to the low to mid 70s. I am doing little outside. Spoiled by AC. Mid Maryland.
Currently 92 degrees and sunshine. Just got out of the pool where the water temp is 82 degrees and very comfortable.
Yesterday we set a record at 105 in Denver, today mid 70's
Low 70s but more importantly we are 10 inches behind average in rainfall.
We had 7 inches of rain in June- normally 3.5 or so.
83 in Grand Isle, humidity 54%.
I'm learning that ceiling fans are indispensable if you don't have AC. Even so, 83 is cool compared to the rest of the NE so I'm doing OK.
94F with 54% humidity, suburban Chicago.
I was supposed to go diving at the quarry today, but cancelled as it's just too danged hot. Water temp is 61F at 25ft and 48F at 45ft. Dress for the water temp and you roast top side.
Diving tomorrow though.

Mid 90’s and very high humidity.
We are tramping around gardens, looking at lilies in
Des Moines Region.
Pretty miserable! But more rain tonight will cool things off.
My parents are in the Des Moines area, sitting out for a concert and trying to manage.

MN and WI are in a "Sweltering Summer Heat Wave" … Thunderstorms are expected to be severe/damaging.
Heavy rains have been washing out roads and bridges. Ashland WI had its storm sewer system overwhelmed by the last major thunderstorm... so their municipal sewage was bestowed on the lake I love more than all others.

High of 98 F expected for today (down from earlier prediction of 106), 97 right now, 22% humidity, wind WNW at 14 mph on the Sacramento River Delta in California. Forecast is a drop into the mid 80s for the coming week, after winds of 33mph tomorrow.
It was in the mid 80s today here in Nova Scotia. Locals told us there was snow flurries here last week.
Currently 97 in Northern Michigan and just returned from the beach but water was too cold to swim!
At 6 p.m. 92F and sunny in central Indiana.

We were mid-eighties and it felt pretty hot doing yard work this afternoon. We did it anyway, then took a shower, and now we're feeling cooler and doing drinks and burgers on the grill.
Bought a hydrangea and planted it in the garden. :)
Below normal. I'm in the Rockies.

I am staying with my brother tonight because our area of hotel in
Des Moines is flooded.Crazy weather.
Highs in the 90's and humid. I set my alarm and went out before 6 AM to get some weeding done.
We've been upper 90's with heat index 105-110. It's miserable to me. I can barely function. The other day I wrote "Heat Depression -it's a thing" on my facebook status. Then I thought, I better look that up. And it really is a thing. It's still SAD (seasonal affective disorder, but less people get it than the winter version).
It's 56 with a high predicted in the mid 60's today. 20 miles inland though is a completely different story.
Expected high of 103 degrees today in Phoenix; will be 107 degrees on Wednesday 4th. That's why there's little/no outdoor picnics/bbqs here which are always depicted in ads - we do that in winter!

Weather here is much like Float On said, upper 90's and heat index over 100. That is interesting about the SAD in Summer version because I have been noticing, (and commenting to a friend), about how much I hate Winter, can't wait for it to be over, look forward to warm weather but yet now that this weather is here I feel much the same! I feel I need a break from the heat, can't take it much longer, etc. - the way I feel when it is cold! I wonder if as we age do we have less tolerance for temperature extremes?
Or the extremes are more extreme and more frequent due to climate change.
At 69, I have much less tolerance for heat and cold. I did weed for 30 minutes yesterday to complete one flower bed. When weeding in the shade sometimes only part of a flower bed gets weeded. My husband went out at 6:30 to pick blueberries. I LOVE air conditioning! 95 today predicted, but it did go down to 62 last night.
I think it's as we age we can't take the swings anymore. I am interested to hear about the heat version of SAD because boy, I seem to have it. And I have the winter version. Just like Sad, I can't take this much longer--it was 97 yesterday and the heat is like a hot blanket over everything, and I can't breathe. We are supposed to go out and watch the Blue Angels, which I normally love, but I am worried about walking from the car to the park in this heat.

I definitely can’t deal with heat now. We rented a apartment above a 100 yo farmhouse with walking trails. Way to hot to walk and the mosquitoes are horrible because their spring was so wet. I forgot how Wisconsin can be.

Just saw on Discover Wisconsin things to do in Kenosha. If you are into Civil War history there is supposed to be a wonderful museum there. Also check out some of the local mansions in the area ... such as the Durkee Mansion.

It's not very hot here, lower 80s, low humidity, really mostly pleasant, use the AC some (have a window box) but not all the time (and fans may have sufficed really).
HOWEVER, it's scheduled to get hot end of next week (100+). So serious hotness may be coming!

They were fine yesterday and didn't say anything. They are actually in Urbandale (my kids called it boring-dale), but both of my aunts are in Des Moines. They have been on Facebook and haven't mentioned anything.
It was 94 degrees a few hours ago, then a pop up thunderstorm appeared and it's now 72 degrees and cloudy. Very comfortable!
97 degrees and 41% humidity, winds WSW at 20 mph. 3:30 pm Sunday, Sacramento River Delta, California

It's around 90 and low humidity in southern Oregon, very pleasant in the shade.
Zoe Girl, all my Mom's side of the family is in Urbandale. Small world 😊
TN-temps have been in the low 90s but feel a lot worse because of the humidity. We are getting to the point where night temps do not fall below 70............

Thanks FO, but I lived there until 25 years ago and still come regularly to visit my friends so have done everything there is to do. We usually go to either Milwaukee or Lake Geneva for the day.
