Well, Canada is going legal on recreational cannabis in October and licences will be somewhat restricted with setbacks etc but the number of those entering the market for recreational is unlimited. Medical cannabis growers have to get and operate under a federal licence and there are warnings that the price of medical cannabis is increasing.

Our police have not been trained and apparently, any way of actually detecting impairment in drivers is dubious. There will be a court case to settle what constitutes impairment and how it is decided. It is nuts.Did Canada learn anything from the US legalization experience? Nope!

I think it was the ACLU that devised a test for employees, comparing a baseline performance test to subsequent tests. Not sure how that would work with drivers, though.

A case for government price supports like we do for other agricultural products (joking)? There is some big money behind the marijuana boom, but at the least federal prohibitions have kept big ag and corporate America out of the business. In Canada, mega business is already going wide open, although I suspect profitability will be self limiting when the market becomes saturated just like it has in Oregon. Within the limits of what it is, Colorado has been a decent model that other states should follow.
