View Full Version : Strange messages Why and who? Help
i have been getting strange messages after checking into my photo file.
I will go to my internet provider on Monday to sort it out if no answer or explanation makes sense to anyone.
I have had three of these strange messages so far that I remember.
The latest:
"Come on, is it really your photos got here? Really, cool social network https://tinyurl.com/ydgpea5w"
Phone number is 1-872-465-1550.
I did the reverse phone search and discovered that it is a landline from Chicago IL. Provider is Neutral Tandem-Illinois

It's a fishing scam. Change passwords. And do not respond or click any links.
My problem is I don't know which passwords to change - my modem, my computer, my iCloud, SLF .....? It may have started after I posted my first photo to SLF. Coincidence? It is only about photos and and sent on Message. Really weird
I was getting (repeated several times in a day) random phone calls from a number over period of time but my provider blocked it. !
Hard to say exactly what the issue is without seeing where the messages are appearing (iMessage? Text message? When you log into iCloud?). Wouldn't hurt to change your iCloud password once in a while anyway (but remember to change it on all iDevices that sync through it). It's unlikely that it's your SLF password. Might be your computer password, but if I were a hacker I wouldn't be wasting time on someone else's computer advertising some sketchy Web site.
More details, though, would help (even a screen shot if you know how to do that).
