Just checking in to say Happy Labor Day to all. Off today and very glad for it, just needed a day to tend to my life and what's important to me beyond work. Did not do much today though to be honest other than yard work - luckily it's not that nasty hot today for an early September day in Phoenix. Will be going to a carne asada cookout tonight hosted at the house three doors down going South - the roofer and his girlfriend who just finally found a job - I'm so happy for her!
She's someone with a marijuana conviction and she has been struggling to find work for two years due to this and finally found something at a family owned, non-corporate restaurant in the 85004. We will be celebrating this, too as she is a decent person and the system is insane in this regard, it really is. At least she found work though and has Medicaid and an EBT card. Things could be worse. Rob
