One of the local simple living groups here asked me and some other members to write Simple Living Manifestos.

I thought I would share the link with you, in case you'd like to read them.

The way I see it is if you can explain it in a sentence or two, you don’t need a manifesto, mission statement or any other self-celebratory proclamation.

God, I love that manifesto! It's a poem! I'm going to print it and keep it. It's a great reminder to let it go and let it flow.

(Not to be the cranky editor, but pass along to the blog people that they spelled Manifesto wrong)

I could not agree more. But they want interesting blog entries for people to read. So I supplied them with that.

I thought about this:

"I came. I saw. I didn't buy anything."

But I figured it was too snarky. haha

Spend less. Have more. Make capitalism work for you rather than the other way around.

That is a pretty good one!

Works for me. Seems like part of the manifesto for the Nearings and the Dominguez included some sort of service to the community whether explicit or implied. At least it's part of mine, but I can accept that there is a wide rage of simple living practices. I like Thoreau's when he said, Our life is frittered away by detail...simplify, simplify.
