I don't have cats, but I do have four doggies and the need for hugs is directly proportional to their closeness to a human! Gotta share their love.

This could be 4 year olds vs 13 year olds.

Here is one of my jokes.

In the town of Ocean Springs MS, on the Gulf of Mexico, where Hurricane Katrina hit with such force, I visited the Shearwater Pottery with a few friends. The present building was up on piers. I said to my friends in the car with me, There are stairs, or a ramp if you are so inclined.

Here is another occasion to smile: a Gaelic blessing recorded in 1988 by Bill Douglas, with Ars Nova Singers under the direction of Thomas Morgan.
(I believe an explicitly Christian version was set to music by John Rutter in 1978.)

"...Deep Peace to you."

"As the actress said to the bishop," was how a co-worker of mine used to frame those lines.
