Something interesting regarding my Men's Rights participation lately - I have been having some really interesting conversations regarding politics that have made me think. It's so bizarre, too, as the men I know in the Movement are straight and almost all are Conservatives. Because they have shown me acceptance and respect, I have been willing to hear their political take and I will say that one take in particular resonates with me - cue the shock and gasp - even if it's a Conservative one.

One of these guys I know is a small business owner and I would agree that the taxes and regulations he faces are ridiculous. He's thinking of doing the digital nomad thing, ironically to get out of the country (but for different reasons than I, to be clear) but thinks he might be too old for this life at 52. The point here is that though these guys are not (mostly) on the same page with me politically, I can however see some valid points in what they have to say. And it's been gratifying to hear some of these Conservatives admit that American Health Care is a thing of terror - three of them even expressed interest in my dental/medical contacts in Mexico, and one of them has already been going to Algodones, Mexico for optical before he ever met up with me again! It's also been gratifying to hear from several of these guys that something has to be done about income inequality and that they agree that College these days has become a huge gamble slash borderline overpriced scam.

It's just really neat, for lack of a better word, to run across a situation in which people of different political takes have an open mind to what others are saying even if they don't agree with all my takes nor I theirs. Gives me some hope for the human race - and I still maintain that I owe straight men in general a huge apology for my attitude and distrust and hostility over the years. Rob

Yes, Even people who believe in a different god, love people who are not the gender you would pick for a mate, have different color skin and speak a different language can be OK. Exactly what we want people to understand about us is what we have to do for them.

We are way way too far into an us vs. them mentality. Sometimes you have to take the first step in understanding, as in every relationship.
