I am swept away by the greenness of the mosses here in the Northern Highlands of Wisconsin.

Today I noticed the mosses growing on the black bark of a great oak, on a border of rough red bricks, and on the North-sides of lots of things.

It is raining tonight. I expect the mosses will be oh-so-verdant in the morning.

Love those mosses! I was just admiring some last evening.

I'm a huge moss lover. I try to cultivate moss between the pavers of our brick patio (with limited success, but I haven't really tried that hard, but I refuse to eradicate it with weed killer). It's beautiful on the trees in the park adjacent to my house as well.

When you have tamarack needles decomposing on top of pavers in the shade of the picnic table, mosses grow very well. :D

Mosses are beautiful, agreed.

Did you try the adding moss to buttermilk and blending it and painting it on the rocks? I've always wondered if that really works. Where I want moss is too sunny and where I have moss I don't really want it there because it's rocks I walk on and gets slick.

Yeah, I've read a couple of recipes for buttermilk, but I haven't tried it. I wouldn't want it ON the pavers, but in-between.
