Does anyone around here have a new family member that is a beagle puppy? Anyone? I am in the mood to see photos of a beagle puppy.

........

Haha razz just kidding you but why have there been no photos? You are letting us down!

Twist my arm, why don't you? He is so cute. I feel self-conscious about saying too much.2746
After a long hike on the trail and then sitting outside while I gardened makes for a tired boy.

My dad loved beagles and we had lots growing up. They were little escape artists.

Well, I will let you work that one out with the breeder who brought him in for the "meet and greet" and the vet.
I am keeping him close as the escape artist is a good description.

They were little escape artists. OMG, how true that is. Ours refused to stay inside and ended up tied in his kennel when we weren't home, until he got too old to dig/jump/climb out. Before we tied him, he dug a hole, which he filled with leaves and debris so as to cavort all day, and be snug in the kennel when we got home. I love beagles. Razz, yours is SO CUTE!

I took Simplemind’s comment to mean she has a puppy too,but hers is not a beagle.

I suppose she could post a photo of that puppy as well although this thread is reserved for beagles, ha ha.

If I misunderstood, my sincere apologies Simplemind.

My last dog was a beagle and blue Tick Hound cross and a moving van of 70lbs plus when he saw a cat. Benny is so much smaller and only weighs 21lbs so while lively, is easier to manage. I have started his life with me by having an open crate in the LR and another in the BR that is closed when I tuck him in at night. He is happy in both and I have some peace of mind about the escape part. Lots of walking keeps us both busy.

My little wild Irish girl. Half Irish Setter, half Golden Doodle. Impossibly cute and smart as a whip. My plan is to train her as a therapy dog to use in my volunteer work in trauma situations. She is such a lover and is happiest when she is smack dab next to you.

Love beagles. We raised and trained and showed them. At times we'd have over 100 during pup season. Nothing happier than a 6 year old girl with a pile of 36 puppies crawling all over her.

When I was 4 we had beagle puppies and they surrounded me and I got scared. So I tried to get away and fell on the runt of the litter. My dad intended to sell the puppies because we had 3 beagles. Well she ended up with a head injury and was never right. So my dad couldn’t sell her because she wouldn’t obey commands and he was worried someone would abuse her. She was the cutest and people offered my dad double the price when he said she wasn’t for sale. She ended up being the favorite dog. I heard that story for years:))

Our first family dog was a beagle. I barely remember him because I don’t think we had him up very long time. He escaped. Was not seen since.

Adorable! It's fun having smart dogs! And if they're cuddly, that's even better!

This created the loveliest image in my mind. There is something about puppies...
Just now I am working on the training aspect after getting Benny familiar and relaxed with his new home. Any hints?

I don't know that I'd have any hints. Dad was the trainer. But he always said someone had to be alpha dog and it had to be a human. Beagles have so much energy, love to run and are easily distracted by scents in the air. To have a beagle be a house dog I'd really recommend the best training and obedience classes you can afford. Many beagles end up in rescue because they "don't come when called" and "run off".
