View Full Version : cat grooming?
My cat is now 17 years old and doing pretty well overall. He gets the grumpies of course but he is in good health. The one thing I noticed is that he can't groom himself very well. He has matted up hair on his belly side. I got a brush and he seems to like that, I am also trimming off the knotted up parts. I am going to keep up brushing so he won't get more matted hair. I didn't grow up with cats, and haven't had an old one before so is this okay? Are there any things I should be aware of?

I have my 17 year old car shaved 2 or 3 times a year, but she has long hair. She hasnt been able to groom herself well for many years. Watch for poo balls sticking to his rear end.
Oh good to know. Midnight is longer haired and I think at least getting the belly shaved is a good idea, And we have had some poo ball issues!
