Greta T was an interesting choice. I would have gone with the Hong Kong protesters myself.

I think they were deliberately trolling Trump. It sure did get under his skin.

Greta's concern for the climate affected the whole world vs the HK protestors who are very courageous is a more local issue to HK itself.

I do think the young are going to be leading the way with optimism and courage, perhaps a sense of desperation.
The older leaders and generation have not been very responsible, easily corrupted and compliant.

Time is still publishing?

Time is still out there. It’s Newsweek that passed on to a ghostly internet afterlife.

Everything gets under his skin, that's just Narcissistic Personality Disorder combined with possible dementia, nothing to do with Greta.

Yes, I imagine he would have reacted the same no matter who it was.

Unless, of course, it was him, again.

It may be that Trump in his twisted way has a point. Time's state criteria is that POTY should be some who "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year."
Hitler has been named, and Mussolini. I'd say that this past year Trump has done far more damage than Thunberg has done good, although he's bush league compared to Adolf and Benito (or should I say "Bush league" :laff:).

POTY has really been kind of joke since 2001, when by its own stated criteria the selection should obviously have been Osama bin Laden. Instead they chickened out and picked Rudy Giuliani--who might also qualify this year on the basis of the "for worse" criterion.

I agree. I'm glad she got it.

As for the criteria - maybe they need to establish two categories: a "positive POTY" and a "negative POTY".

I believe this was a great pick on Time's part. Rob
