Hi everyone, super pleased to have found this forum. Married for 23 years with two children who are finding their own feet as adults, one still at home. Seriously needing to reevaluate and simplify my lifestyle, possessions, and work to enjoy this new stage of life. Not good at change so hoping to benefit from the comments and threads on here.

Cheers, Ian

:welcome: Do you know of Rhonda over there? (I know it's a huge continent.) https://down---to---earth.blogspot.com/

When I discovered her blog, I went back to the very beginning and read my way forward. Soooo much good information provided by her.

Hello! Nice to see you. Many of us have found simple living later in our lives. I'm sure you'll find lots of information here. I'm looking forward to seeing your questions and comments!

Welcome, Ian! Not sure that you aren't the first from Australia among us. Look forward to your posts.

I used to follow a woman's blog, "Down-to-Earth," by Rhonda Hetzel, who was from the Sunshine Coast. Her blog was just so full of homekeeping and suburban farm skills advice and wonderful stories and photos. I was so disappointed when she shut it down. You still can find it and look at the content, though.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am a safe distance from the fires but like everyone I am deeply saddened by the loss of life and particularly of so much natural wildlife. I Checked out Rhonda's blog and will definitely follow her. Hope to talk to you all at some point in this journey.

She wasn't gone very long. I continued to check once/week and it seemed a short break. She's generally doing just 4-6 posts/month now. As always, she's real about life in homemaking and aging.

Welcome! My child will be leaving for college in less than 2 years and I am already seeing that things will be very different. New situations, new experiences, having to make adjustments keeps us mentally and physically agile, right?
