Ive decided that I’m going to get rid of many of my tools. I’ve been working some myself on our new house and I’m tired of it. I’m just going to hire everything out from here on in. I gave up on yard work a few years ago and that has been nice, no more mowing or trimming for me, and honestly the company that does the work does a better job than me.

ill keep some hand tools for small stuff, but no more big jobs for me. And all the lumber, and misc stuff that I’ve been keeping is going also.

The only problem I see is finding someone to work. Everyone is busy currently.

Sounds like a tough decision to make, but once made, is very freeing. DH doesn't mow our lawn anymore; I'm thinking of selling the mower and trimmer that is taking up space in our garage.

It certainly makes sense to me that you're doing this. Obviously you can afford to hire people, and if you don't enjoy the tasks then you don't need the tools. I'm sure someone else will be happy to have them.

Based on my experience after dealing with my late DH's tools after his passing and my moving, getting rid of your tools is actually a gift to your wife - one less concern for her to deal with if you are unable to deal with the disposal in the future. Smart man!

You will clean up if you put them on Craigslist. My husband has sold three table saws, a chipper, and some other big item I can't remember. All gone within 24 hours of listing.

I’ll sell the table saw and maybe a few other big items. The rest I’ll give to habitat, they can use or sell, I’m to lazy to deal with the rest.

Yes, giving them to Habitat is a great idea--many people go to the Habitat stores when they need something, so all of the items will go to good use.
