Alaskan brown bears are doing quite well but do gain enormous weight to cope with hibernation. You get to vote who is the fattest. Live cam as well.

My dad used to track bears for the state of Virginia, and they put food out. He used donuts that the grocery store gave him. Then my parents started eating the donuts themselves, and were in a race with the bears for a while there.
