View Full Version : Do you think Trump actually has/had COVID-19? Yes - No

It seems to be the big question everywhere.
Having to choose a straight "yes" or "no" answer, I say "no".
Everything I see and read concerning his "illness" appears like a hoax to me and, if it is - what a slap in the face to all who have died from and/or suffered through this virus!
I truly hope I am wrong and that this is not another one of his lies.
Edited to add: Oops! LOL! Put in wrong thread. Mods please feel free to move to Politics!

It’s really sad when you can’t believe a word that your president says. So many people would have to keep their mouths shut if it’s a hoax.

I don't think trump would want to look weak this close to the election. But you never know. He is not doing well in the polls. If he recovers quickly he cannot say it was no big deal when he is being pumped with meds others cannot get.

I can't believe Walter Reed would go along with a hoax. Otherwise, I might be skeptical.
He seems to have his doctors obfuscating for him, though. Unbelievable.

Yes for the reasons stated: How could you get the hospital to collude on a lie of such a grand scale, and also he doesn't like to appear weak. He's been saying all along that he's not worried about getting it because, of course, he is Superman. His only kryptonite is his insatiable self-love.
Yes. Too many people in a hospital that would leak of it was fake. Also, everyone around him has it except his kids (supposedly).
Why would the President want us to believe he was infected if he in fact wad not?

yes. too many people who are not under his thumb - hospital staff, mainly- would have to collude and I just don't see that happening.
Yes. I've not heard anything otherwise and can't twist it into a conspiracy theory without more information.
I just looked up "Qanon beliefs on Trump & covid" on Google, so of course I know the actual truth...Trump does NOT have covid...of course not; since it's all a hoax and even if it were real, it's easily treatable with hydroxychloroquine. He tweeted the announcement that he and Melania were going into isolation to indicate that super-secret plans to arrest deep state traitors, like Hilary, are about to commence, and he and his trusted advisors need to go into deep protection during the Storm (coming upheaval). This is quite obvious, since Trump tweeted "we will get through this TOGETHER," interpreted as "to get her (Hilary)". So, just Trump, Melania, and his closest, most trusted advisors are being protected....I expect to hear any day now that Ivanka (his favorite child) has tested positive and must quarantine....Eric, I don't think, will test positive. I hope this clears up any questions you may have :)

I'd lean toward yes just because too many accomplices. HOWEVER, on these particular accomplices, there is a history here, there is Trump's unexpected unannounced visit to Walter Reed in November. Hmm.
Timing seems slightly off in how quickly he was hospitalized and got oxygen. Even if he was infected Weds morning, it's fast, isn't the average to hospitalization like a week from symptoms? OK apparently those more likely to die of covid present more quickly at the hospital. Either that or just extra caution that of course we wouldn't get.
It doesn't help his campaign any though IMO. It gets people focusing on Covid again, it's not a good issue for Trump to put it mildly.
The sequence of events as described does not conform to my understanding of How Things Work.
This may only mean that the information channel is distorting that data however.

I agree with Bae’s statement. However, it is a tricky virus, And he has had the benefit of treatments that other people seldom receive.
I think it’s likely his ranting and yelling during the “debate” helped him combat the virus. I’ve read several places/times that one of the most important and effective early treatments is deep breathing. Normally, people feel so lousy With high fever that they rest, when they really need the exact opposite, movement and deep breathing.
I also think he had already tested positive before the “debate” and he thought perhaps that was his only chance to face Biden, hence, the extremely bad behavior.

Hahaha! I was immediately suspicious when I saw that tweet. Like Melania would support him "in sickness and in health." :D
Kudos to you for having the fortitude to read QAnon prattlings, so the rest of us don't have to.
I'll give them props for creativity though.

Who knows where this will all end, rushing through the disease, Remdesiver, the steroid etc., those are supposed to be used at different stages of the disease. Maybe it's all to declare to the population the wonders of monoclonal antibodies. Of course antibodies might work but n1 (if that) and only approved for emergency use as not fully tested - but some antibody treatments seem to be being used some places, and how widely available even is it. I know, I know, these could be entirely unavailable to the 99% and Trump would be telling everyone to take them anyway, just because we're post-reality with Trump. Better than the manufacturer of cheap junky pillows telling people to take Oleander I suppose but.

I heard an interview with Laurie Garrett this morning, and she was puzzled that two of his treatments seemed at odds with each other, among other things.
If ever there were a president who would attempt such an absurd hoax, it's certainly Trump. But no, I don't think it's a hoax. I'm not big on conspiracy theories generally--people so want to believe them since they are so much more fun than boring old reality.
The boring old reality here is that Trump got infected through his irresponsible and reckless behavior and the illness is now running its course, although what that course is isn't at all clear and won't be for several more days at least. That he's planning to return to the WH means only that he's capable of walking far enough to get into a car. They've got a full-blown hospital suite there waiting for him. His doctor appears to be just another Trump sycophant, so most of what he says tells us nothing.
I've been on dex while in the icu and his tweets today certainly support the idea that he is on it. I did not sleep for four days on it, and begged them for a sleeping pill, and they gave me ambien, and I pulled out all my tubes and was walking around in my sleep.
Ugh. Powerful stuff.

I don’t buy that. This has all the hallmarks of a lie about a lie of the faked moon landing variety.
If he's flying high on uppers, the inevitable descent should be entertaining.
He's an expert on COVID now; he's promised to school the rest of us.
Yes, because there's no way you could get the hospital in on it if it was fake.

Since I don't rule out it's decently likely that he has been on drugs his whole presidency, as well as a obvious personality disorder - it's drugs on top of drugs at this point. If he's even on the steroid.

Do I believe he has it, yes.
Do I believe he was detected at the stage most people seem to be, no. I believe he would have been detected much earlier and expect he was given stuff to boost his immune response.

One of his drugs boosts his immune response and one inhibits it. The steroids make him feel even more invincible than usual.
I wonder if they dealt with his reported Adderall/Benzo dependency while he was at WR. Probably not.
Oh yes, he has it. Assessing his breathing when he was standing on the WH veranda doing his photo op..... I won't go into medical terms but my fellow RNs here, I'm sure, saw it too. Don't need a stethoscope!
I’ve read that he wears a girdle type garment to slim his abdomen. If he was wearing it when he returned to the White House, that would also contribute to his obvious shortness of breath and use of accessory breathing muscles.
Since covid, I can’t wear a bra. Even the most soft, loose, non-underwire ones. They feel ok when I put them on, but within 30 minutes I’m short of breath. I can feel the restriction around my rib cage with each breath. Without one, I’m fine. I had never realized how even slightly restrictive clothing affects our bodies.
I bought 100% cotton camisoles in a size larger than would be recommended for me. It’s perfect and those are my bras going forward.

I saw some potentially-odd things, but it wasn't a long enough period of time, from the right angles, with the right lighting, for me to really draw any conclusions.
When he first announced it, I certainly entertained some doubts. However, now, I do think he is. I think he's not as recovered as he and his doctors say he is. Still thinks he's a TV star and is playing for ratings.

This complete amateur, with no medical training or knowledge, saw someone seriously struggling to breathe.
I saw that too. Then I saw him reeling off stock names yesterday and wow, you gotta wonder.

HA! Of course he could. People are willing to do ANYTHING for this idiot in chief>:(
