Interesting perspective from someone from a country that has suffered many coups. And for anyone interested it includes a good detailed timeline of the travesty that the Republican Party is currently committing against this country. When one sees all of the actions taken as part of this coup spelled out in one place it’s breathtaking.

I look forward to hearing from the people thrilled with trump’s presidency about the good things he’s done because in my mind they would have to be pretty effing fantastic things to make up for the evil that is currently being perpetrated by him and his party on this country.

He pardoned a couple of private citizens who deserved it? (And miscreants like Joe Arpaio who decidedly didn't.) Of course there was the tax cut for millionaires...:(

It seems clear to me that he's trying desperately to stage a coup. How many governors and attorneys general has he tried to strong-arm so far, anyway? And his toadies in Congress stand silently by. I hope to wake up some day and find this all an unpleasant memory.

He did pass something that was good for animals. This article is excellent and my son has pointed out that a more competent evil person could steal the presidency and become a dictator. The Republican senators and congressmen are shirking their duties in not speaking against what he is doing. I would feel the same if it was a Democrat. Our country is more important than parties.

I don’t know why the OP thinks he will get answers from people “thrilled with trumps presidency. “I think the OP is not reading the room. Or maybe he’s unable to speak in any other way other than hyperbole, who knows.

trump has had more people executed than anyone else in the last 130 years.... and 5 more before he leaves office. Wonder what right to life people that approve of trump think of this?

This right to life person doesn't believe in capital punishment, but to get back to your original statement, what does Trump have to do with criminal executions? I believe sentencing is still done through courts, usually many, many years before the execution, and then carried out by states. Isn't it still that way?

As many people are executed in Texas most years via the death penalty. Yea I had to pick a state with an actual death penalty. Of course there are executions and executions: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-drone-strikes/

In another thread two people specifically stated that they liked some of the things Trump has done. I’m curious what those things are.

Here's a pretty good fact-checked list of Trump's accomplishments. In my mind his accomplishments fall into these categories:
1) Things I support, but Obama had already gotten the ball rolling or had actually don't them and he continued or didn't stop them
2) Things he did and can take credit for, but I don't support them because I don't agree with the policy.
3) Things I give him credit for.

In another thread two people specifically stated that they liked some of the things Trump has done. I’m curious what those things are.I was one of those people although I never used the term "liked" or the term "thrilled" as you characterized in another post, those terms both imply a focus on personality rather than accomplishment which is something many can't seem to separate. I think the closest I came was to suggest a "fair amount of good governance", but I'll still give my top three examples not already mentioned or referenced elsewhere.

1. Appointment of Federal Judges more likely to uphold the rights to free speech and religion.
2. Long sought after Middle East peace agreements.
3. Virtual elimination of ISIS as a world wide terror threat.

Ah! “Liked some of the thingsTrump has done” accurately characterizes what I said. Now this, I can respond to.

As I have stated several times, I am happy with the my asset report. That is largely based performance of investments. The business community likes Trump. He gets credit for the bumped up and continuously strong stock market.

I think it is amazing that Trump got the little man in North Korea to meet face to face. I guess it is amazing/good since I havent seen any fallout from it that is bad. It is unprecidented, and I wonder when that Korean regieme will again meet with a U.S. President.

If thought your question was sincere I might spend more time actually reviewing the four years of Donald J Trump’s Presidency and would come up with more, but it’s not worth my time because your question is not sincere.

My question, admittedly asked in my usual hyperbolic way, was sincere. Thank you both for your straightforward honest answers.

1. Religion should be separate from government IMO. Need separation of church and state.
2. Middle east peace agreements.... Might be good for Israel but what about the Palestinians?
3. Look up elimination of ISIS as indicated in the fact-checked list Catherine posted above.... NOT!

The stock market was on the rise when trump took over... he just was there for the ride. Of course the business community likes trump... he eliminates laws that are needed. I hate the elimination of laws that protect our water just to give businesses more power. Also, decimation of animal populations from revoked protection laws. There are more ... those 2 came to the top.

Yeah, trump was made to look like a fool when he met with "the little man in North Korea." trump thought he got Rocketman to quit with the nukes but evidence is to the contrary. trump made no inroads.

As far as reviewing the years of trump's presidency...peruse the "accomplishment list" Catherine posted above. Your mind will be changed.

Responses:

1. Yes it should, but it works both ways, government should not use its influence against established religious beliefs in the way the previous administration did and courts should not assist the government in its over-reach. That's why judicial appointments are important.
2. There's still work to be done, but this administration has accomplished much in the area. There's more to the Middle East than Palestine.
3. I said "virtual" elimination, they are much less of a threat than they were under the previous administration and are now more of a local threat than a global one.

We've had the discussion before about the judicial appointment of the handmaiden... Of course there is more than just Palestine but that was not peaceful. Also don't agree with your idea of ISIS threat....

Guess we just need to disagree. We, obviously, do not see things with the same eyes.

Well the good thing is if the incoming Biden administration makes half the improvements in these areas we've seen under the current one, you're bound to see things differently. ;)

I don't think trump made very many, if ANY, improvements. His lack of concern for our environment is evidenced daily, his lack of diplomacy is evidenced by the disrespect from our allies... the list goes on. All I can say is GOOD RIDDANCE to him. Life will be better for more people with him gone. We will actually have a leader who utilizes qualified people to get a job done. I am certain there will not be many, if any, of Biden's administration going to jail! That alone tells you what type of person trump is. Birds of a feather.....

I am certain there will not be many, if any, of Biden's administration going to jail! I feel pretty confident about that as well as it's unlikely they'll face such a high degree of scrutiny from institutional scolds and ne'er do wells. That will be a good thing.

What? You don’t expect any of them to do 14 hours of testimony like Hillary during the Republican witch hunt that didn’t find any wrongdoing?
