I have just heard that, in spite of the blizzard coming our way tomorrow, we will not have a snow day. Because we can all "work at home" don't ya know. Unfortunately, my salaried job (customer service and supervising same) does not lend itself to this, so I will have to take a vacation day. After the year we've had, they couldn't just give us a damn day off? Just another way the 1% sticks it to the working slouch. Thanks for listening. Signed, Cranky in Connecticut

Yeah, you'd think they could make an accommodation in a year filled with them.

I'll just leave this here. Sorry the thumbnail comes up so small; I guess the source file is on the small side, too. And I'm a bit lazy for not wanting to figure out how to make it bigger. If it can be. Click for larger.

Those of us with long commutes were told to take vacation days tomorrow due to the storm because "if you get in an accident and have to go to the hospital you could catch covid there."

I am fine with this. It's not like I can use my vacation time to go anywhere anyways. Even travel less than a half hour north to New Hampshire is prohibited, although it is a lower risk state with no covid deaths yesterday according to a report I heard on the radio this morning.
