Governor Sununu of NH held a small indoor swearing in recently due to threats against himself and his family.

I think Biden should do the same, but having run for president over something like 30 years and finally gotten in I don't think he will give up his moment of glory, no matter the risk to the Secret Service or others.

I disagree. Just as I disagreed with team Biden's decision to cancel the Texas rally when the thugs harassed them on the highway.

I'm pretty sure they will do it with all due caution given both the dangers of COVID and outgoing President-led insurrectionists.

Biden's pageant represents a public acknowledgment of the transfer of power. I suspect some people will benefit from seeing this as a tradition of our democracy. I'd say, increase security measures and then make it as big as possible.

I can only imagine what the inauguration would look/be like if the election outcome were different. I'm okay with Biden doing whatever he wants!

That is slightly disturbing to even think about. It would certainly be the start of something big. Maybe he would invite Putin.
