Bad news for border state folks saving money in Los Algodones as have I for some years. The cartel that was once uncontested in the area - which is why it was so safe - is now being contested. Apparently this new cartel - Jalisco New Generation - has set up shop in Tecate and crime is increasing and murders are beginning in the little towns around Algodones.
