I am amazed. I just had another evaluation. There were a few suggestions but overall I was rated as exceeds expectations. And I was given a $1/hr raise this time retroactive to the start of the current pay period.

For the first time in my life I feel like I actually have a job that is overall a good fit. I don't care for back up cashiering but if I move up one level - something that actually seems plausible - I won't have to except in no other choice conditions.

I'm grateful I finally found a good fit. Rob

Very good. A raise that pays you more forever is better than a one time covid retention bonus.

Congrats! I'm not surprised. You've always come across as a hard working fellow. Glad to hear that it's finally being appreciated.

Good for you. Congrats.

I'm also reasonably content at my job. But I think I have some ingrained belief one has to keep changing jobs to "remain competitive" or something. As if one wants to after finding some stability after several years of unstable employment.

Congratulations, Rob! I'm not surprised--you seem to have a big heart for service of all kinds.

It's wonderful when you are validated for your work, and it's even more wonderful when it's unexpected! And it's even more wonderful when your work fits your abilities like a hand in glove. It's interesting how sometimes we stumble into those experiences.

Well done!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I count myself very blessed these days. It's amazing how having your financial house in some order spreads sanity into other areas of.your life, too. Rob
