Glad I’ve still got SLN and a couple of other forums to read at lunch.

FB, What’s App, and Instagram have all been down for more than a hour. DNS issue, I read. Maybe our resident computer gurus could explain that. LOL.

Twitter is still up.
I'm especially sorry because I've been listing and giving away items on our local FB giving page, so that's on pause at the moment.

DNS is the internet equivalent of the phone book- ie it maps names to IP addresses and routes them around. If your DNS is unavailable, to quote Mainers "ya can't get there from he-ah"

DSIL works for FB. Says everything crashed internally and externally. Must have been that 60 Minutes segment:)

I’ve seen tweets posted elsewhere that FB employees couldn’t get into a NY office to check on the outage as their key cards to get them into the office weren’t working.

I'm thrilled to see I missed all the hubbub. Could it be I actually never checked FB all day? Wow, I'll have to give myself a gold star for that one!
