So a tennis player alleges a sexual assault by a high government official, and disappears. Why is it that the people who run professional women’s tennis should display more backbone than the NBA, Hollywood and the US government when the CCP does horrible, corrupt things?

She has re-surfaced, "says" she is fine. The problem with the Chinese government is that they can't be trusted. Who know if she really is fine? Their government has a reputation of being bullies and thieves and can't be trusted.

The problem with the Chinese is that can't be trusted.

It's very important to differentiate Chinese people from the Chinese government... It's likewise back in Russia, where I'm originally from: Russian people can be some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet in your life. The Russian government, on the other hand, can be cartoonishly evil.

I was unaware of this until this morning. After reading a couple of articles about this and seeing it on the evening news something seems off. It will be interesting to see how things play out. I hope she is ok.

I’m still happily surprised that the WTA is willing to stand up for what’s right when so many of our companies and institutions are so easily intimidated into looking the other way. Who would have thought women’s tennis would be ballsier than the swaggering thugs of the NBA?
