View Full Version : Online local marketplaces

As I related in another thread, my FB account is kaput. I have a couple of items that I had hoped to list on the FB marketplace for local pickup, but since that is no longer a viable option at this point in time, I am looking for other options. Anyone have any experience/suggestions/warnings/etc. about any local (pick up - no shipping) marketplaces? I have done Letgo in the past, but the reliability of the app was sketchy. I'll look back into that one.

Craigslist is the old standby here. I use it when I want a wider audience for something, wider than Facebook or Nextdoor.

Craigslist is good because it doesn’t have a social media function. There are no discussion forums and opinionated posts.

I have bought a few things on Craigslist and as a buyer it was a smooth transaction. Nextdoor also has a free/or sale function. Would generate contacts from the geographic area you designate.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've never used Craigslist, as my one and only attempt resulted in a bunch of emails trying to con me out of my item/money/whatever. I gave that up quickly. I do think we have a local Nextdoor, so will look into that.

Nextdoor works well here to sell or give away items.
