View Full Version : Fun challenge - Wordl word game
Recently, I was made aware of this game. There is a new word every day and we have to figure out what it is in 6 tries or less. Quick and fun game. First time I needed the 6 tries but the last two days I have succeeded in 2 tries.

Love these kinds of puzzles! First try - 4 tries.
Thanks, Razz, that's fun. I am rule-challenged, but getting there.
I had to look up a how-to the first time, I confess.
Some hints
- if it isn't a real word and you hit enter, it won't be accepted.
- today, it took 5 tries but I discovered that you can use a yellow letter twice. I was struggling after getting it right in two tries the past two days.
I found a how to video now just need to make time to watch it. Also am going to tell my husband and his sister about this, they love that kind of game.
Okay, just showed husband and he is already hooked.

So, how do you access a word a day? The link above does not do that? Downloaded app and have to do 4 letters…. is this the same?
I didn't know that there was an app. I go to the website each day to play. There probably is a shortcut but I haven't found it yet. Someone wiser than me may find it and share.

What is the website? Your link above does not work to change to a different day???
I just tried using that link and it took me to new word site except now I have to wait for 10 hours for the new word since the UK is in a different time zone. I don't know what else to suggest but sorry that you are having a challenge. It only has one new word per 24 hours, I believe.

My husband found some link where you could play old ones, so I will ask him about it and share if I can find it.
I think I am better off with one a day because it's completely addictive.

That makes sense if originating from the UK.

This is bigger than I thought! Sunday Morning had a segment on this word game. Apparently it is the newest "craze" out there.

I played it once it was kind of fun!
I've added it to my word game rotation. You can never have too many.

The NY Times has reportedly bought Wordle; it has moved to a new link. Interestingly, all my great successes recorded so far have been deleted so started again. https://www.dailywordle.com/
I was amused to see an Atlantic column devoted to it.https://www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/archive/2022/01/how-a-crossword-creator-plays-wordle/621389/

I've decided that I can. I played it one time to see what it was like, then decided I didn't want one more game. I spend too much time on my phone as it is. But, y'all enjoy.
