Started this as I haven't see anything else that relates to a more daily noting of accomplishments - either things that popped-up and immediately got done or crossing off a to-do list with some noteworthy accomplishments, even if small.

As I posted elsewhere a couple days ago that I finally got a replacement two-drawer file cabinet for the one that broke. I have been putting stuff back into the new file cabinet, but am taking the time to properly label and organize the stuff before refiling. Some shredding, some re-organizing and refiling, and some just undecided about. Doing this also motivated me to finally go pick up the tax software for this year's taxes - line through a to-do! LOL.

Finished taking the Christmas lights down today. Tomorrow plan to clean the outside of the grill and the serving table next to it. We haven’t put the cover on in a while since we haven’t had rain since Christmas, so the whole thing is getting grungy.

Good idea, Happystuff! Yours also reminds me that I have to cull and shred files at Mom's house some day soon.
I finally took some measurements and drew up a materials list for a small carpentry project I want to do. Sometimes the first step is the hardest!
This is the project:

Wow, rr! Very cute organizer, but I don't think I could tackle something like that. Good luck! Would love to see pics of the final outcome.

What a great idea for a thread, happystuff!!

Yesterday I completed my 2021 photo album and January 2022 photos are in the new 2022 album. So I am all caught up, and new photos coming in via email can be printed and put in the album. I processed the very difficult 2021 by getting it into the album, including photos of my parents' house in its ruined state. I'll decide in the future if I want to keep them in there, but for now, I am going with putting the truth in the albums and editing later, when I have processed the feelings.

Also finished my Dad's scrapbook, so that his pictures and memorabilia are in one place that can be viewed. Got rid of some old photos that have been lying in boxes in trunks since the 1940's/ The keepers are now in logical order so his descendants can view his life story up until his marriage, as then the family albums take over.

Went through my parents' financial papers and found stock information that her conservator missed, so saved her estate time and money, and helped to straighten out her affairs. Boxes are now back in the attic where they reside, so that they are not in my main living space.

Tybee, I admire your dedication.

Thanks, it is starting to feel less like dedication and more like insanity, but that's because it has been going on for so long.

Wow, Tybee, what progress on a monumental task! congratulations!

RR, that is a neat project to work on. I bought a similar but much smaller plastic version for a crowded ensuite bathroom as I couldn't find anything else suitable.
My accomplishment is more modest - I made applesauce of 20lb of apples.

Tybee - kudos to you for the pictures project. It always seems like a huge undertaking, but wonderful memories while doing it and such a sense of accomplishment when finished.

razz - turning 20lbs of apples into applesauce is fabulous! you did can it, right? I love homemade applesauce!

Applesauce is a big deal!

I had two big accomplishments today:

1- met with the fence guy to finalize plans for fencing on my buck pen and one section of rotational pasture - phase one of a long term plan. Talking to strangers is very hard for me. Dh is making me handle this alone because it is my thing. Anyway, he plans to at least get the stakes in this week.

2- immunized and disbudded all four baby goats. - I’m not sure if it’s more stressful for me or them, but after having a goat with horns get her head stuck, break the horn off, bleed a lot and repeatedly, and develop an infection - I’ll grit my teeth and do it every time. It also makes it safer to keep bucks together and have children around them. If I’m lucky I’ll have two more to do in March and two in June.

Those are unique accomplishments, CL. Your life is very interesting.

Great to hear from you CL. I don't like to talk to strangers either, but having DH do it is even more stressful. And I love applesauce. Last year's harvest went to waste - through all fault of my own. But it saved me a lot of work, lol. Well, I made it though week one of my self-improvised improvement accountability plan (SIIAP), lol. And pretty much on-track. I am working on improving some habits long-term. I used to have a fairly well established routine, but retiring not entirely by choice at the beginning of the pandemic shot all that straight to hell. I don't do well with rigid routines, but I have gotten way too off into the weeds. Now I'm working on making a new path. Today's big *cough cough* accomplishment was finding part of the table under and around this computer. tomorrow I hope to find the rest of it, :~). Not much, and not exciting, but it's movement forward.

Any time I can get a bill or two paid, I consider it an accomplishment! Have also been trying to get a daily walk in again. (I used to walk every day regardless of weather - before the night jobs.) So, chalk up today's walk as an accomplishment, as well.

Early: Unearthing a table is a very big deal, so good job. I've patted myself on the back a few times at Mom's recently when we were gathered at her pristine dining room table to enjoy food and drinks. I've cleared that table more times in my life than I can count, going back to long before her Alzheimer's.

Happy: I've been sort of slacking in the walks dept due to the weather, but I do get my 10,000 steps every day. I pace my bedroom while reading my book, so I'm ahead in my reading at least.

CL: Razz is right, you definitely have the most interesting to-do list. At first I thought disbudding goats involved the removal of something else, so I'm glad you weren't having to do that.

Lol - Rosa, come back in six weeks….

Today’s accomplishment was the very mundane dropping off of the garbage and recycling.

and I made a pound cake, picked up feed, and let a customer know I have eggs available as long as the cold weather holds - so they will stop piling up in my fridge.

Clearing tables is the sort of thing I dream about….

CL, you obviously don't do social media--if you did, there's no way you would be as productive as you are :)

I'm hoping to be able to report in later that I got 4 invoices done and sent. Of all the ridiculous things I procrastinate on, getting paid is one of the most ridiculous. So I'm putting my intention to get those invoices done in writing now so that later on today, I can hopefully check it off as an accomplishment!

I just started following a page on Facebook called "Hairy Farmpit Girls." They had baby goats this weekend! So, so cute!

My brother in law raises goats on his Iowa farm, so we get regular goat reports.

on the day his father died, one of his goats had quads. They all survived although it was a squeaker. That gave DH and his siblings something to do when they were hanging out at the farm dealing with their father’s death and aftermath…feed the new baby goats.

This year his triplets batches are all dying. He says he has an iron problem with his little herd.

Can you do anything for that with goats?

:(

Can you do anything for that with goats? We don’t talk about it but I would think there are dietary iron supplements.

I’m sure he doesn’t want advice, but black onyx cattle mineral for the mommas during gestation is good. And you can give goats injectable iron (which I’m sure he knows, that was for Catherine.)

my issue here is selenium. I generally dose the moms about a month before birth but I had to dose one set of newborns as well.

and no, the closest I come to social media is when my mom tells me what my cousins have posted on Facebook. But I still don’t feel like I get much done. Most school days it’s “chores, teach, maybe run the dishwasher.”

Okay, feel somewhat productive so far this morning. Set up the accounts for making direct payments to our IRAs - test payments sent. And I'm heading out for my walk in about 10 minutes. Hopefully the walk will refresh me to get a few more things completed.

Noticing I do recurring chores if I set an appointment for it. We don't get much paper junk mail anymore, so I decided that Thursday at 5pm is paper shredding time. Don't have to pull out the shredder and the papers don't accumulate as much. Also decided the Wednesday evening project is sorting paper work.

Today I made it to my first actual medical check-up since I got started with Medicare. It's been rescheduled several times for various reasons, but finally it's checked off my to-do list. I have to have one with bloodwork in 6 months. Also got a mammogram last week, after nearly 3 years. Have a dentist appointment and a dermatology check next week. Good to be caught up, after putting so many things off for a confluence of covid and expensive medical coverage that covered practically nothing. AND I ran the car thru the wishy-washy to remove at least some of the road salt. Another chore I seldom get around to doing..... done! :-)

Today I made another batch of laundry soap and have some beans cooking in the cp to make hummus for tomorrow (along with some homemade wheat thins - LOL). The making of the laundry soap was on the to-do list, so another line drawn!

Review and reduce the number of photos on my iPhone. I tried to use a flash drive and copy the photos to it without success. Will come back to it again after I think about it.

Friday and I've walked every day since Monday! Yesterday's to-do: I got the donation box/bags packed up, labeled and out the door on time for the pick-up! New donation box is in the corner ready to be filled. LOL. Made it to the library and picked up the Spanish lessons I want to study during work.

Pretty sure got all the liquor license stuff up to date, for another 8 weeks until the ownership change, then have to do it again.
Also, had to go back through the corporate records that neither owner knew where they were, or kept their copy (from the man that started/financed the business), from 1987, through 1990 and update the state records, that was supposed to be done, BACK THEN. Not fun or easy.
Have to drop off some hard copies on Tuesday morning. (accepted scans for the weekend)
Put the fear of god in the remaining owner, that this could still screw up the licensing renewall, if the state chooses to view it as fraud/incompetence.

Crossed "organize pantry" off the to-do list. Since I had bought all that rice, I had to find a place for it all. (All my pantry goods get repacked from plastic or cardboard containers. Putting in glass or some plastic has solved my rodent and bug issues).

Cleared my dining room table and computer table- not actually clear, but only a stack of daily use items on each. Horizontal surfaces showing!
