Those are so nice! Makes me think I should actually go pick the daffodils that are blooming and bring them inside to brighten up the kitchen or living room.

Beautiful! Being a California girl, living in zone 9b, I had never seen hellebores until 3 years ago, when I saw them on Garden Answer’s YouTube channel. Last year, I found 1 at the local small garden center. This year they were at Costco, Lowes, and Home Depot too, so I got 2 more. They are so pretty, and it turns out they will tolerate our high summer heat And our late winter frosty mornings when it gets down to 28 for 45-60 minutes. Thanks for sharing, Rosa!

Here are mine, first two. Last photo is my neighbor’s row of them.

They are beautiful! I could develop quite a fetish for these. I am moving the first two to Hermann and will use those two to test for deer destruction. My friends with deer said the deer don’t bother the Hellabores but we shall see. If that is the case then I’m thrilled because I can go buy a bunch of different Varieties of hellebores.

We don't have too many deer around, but I can say that the bunnies and groundhogs don't bother mine.

rosarugosa and iris lilies,

Your hellebores look fantastic in the pictures.

Before photography there was botanical art. The link is to Barbara Regina Dietzsch (1706-1783) painting, "Helleborus niger and Butterfly".

If botanical art is disappearing, it's a shame.

If botanical art is disappearing, it's a shame.

Here is an original botanical illustration of a lily my friend Melanie made for me. She was taking a botanical illustration class. These artists have not all disappeared into the ages!

A botanical illustration class--I was born way too soon! Very nice!

That's lovely, IL. There's a FB Group "Illustrious Botanical Illustrations" that features some really amazing artwork.
