View Full Version : How I Learned to (Sort Of) Love the GOP
Do you recognize the privileged work from home liberal? A good example of the type posts here.

One day sociologists will have a field day as they analyze this period of our history. I think they'll find that a sort of social fascism has become the dominant trend among a sub-set of our population. Unfortunately, it's the same sub-set that dominates social media, thereby influencing mainstream media, corporate entities and eventually the government.
Being an optimist at heart, I think we'll return to a more rational society once the majority gets good and tired of it, and I think we're almost there.

One day? I think they are having a field day now!
I'm also an optimist, and I agree with the bolded statement as a generalization, but have a feeling we may differ on the exact definitions of what a "more rational society" is and who it might be that constitutes "the majority".

I'm not claiming I can read the future but my gut? My gut is telling me that drastic sweeping change is not far off. Good or bad I don't know. This war in Ukraine really bothers me, particularly some accounts I won't go into regarding butchery onto the citizens of Ukraine near Kiev. That humans have not learned from WW2 really bothers me - something needs to be done so that one madman (or woman but it does seem to be mostly men) can not affect the fate of so many.
Getting to my.long winded point I try to be an optimistic- but Kyiv is closer than I'd like it to be from Vienna. And any illusion Austria or the rest of Europe had regarding the Era of border changing power grabs being over is gone. I just feel some kind of major change is coming. Hopefully good change. Rob
